Dear Backers,

you made Olympic Games – The Design happen and we all together have reached 130% of the goal until today.

We can’t believe that there are only 24h left until the end of the campaign!

We would love to print at DZA in Altenburg, Germany, a printing house with 425 years of experience and that Niggli has been working with in several occasions.

With a few backers more it would be possible. Wouldn‘t this be great?

Spread the word, share just this few words and the link on your social media accounts and this excellent print will be possible:

The first book to offer the complete design history of the Olympic Games is going to be published!

Emblem, signage, sport facilities merchandising, colors, mascots...the whole range of designs, the various corporate identities of the Games, will be preserved in a way that everybody gets access to what is in public and privat archives all over the world.

Thank you very much for your contribution!

In the US and China Olympic Games – The Design will only be available during this campaign and never in bookshops of these countries.

We would be delighted if you could share the campaign with friends and colleagues who could be interested in it and would like to benefit from the special Kickstarter offer.

Homage to the design of the Olympic Games: Movement, Eternity, Unity
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 23, 2019 at 08:59:18 AM

A sublime interpretation of Olympic design

Erich Brechbühl just finished his Homage to the design of the Olympic Games, a poster specially created for this campaign!

This limited edition size Weltformat printed by Lézard Graphiques in France is available as an Olympic poster bundle together with Olympic Games – The Design.

We love how he has put the timeless Olympic emblem in the spotlight. The five rings have a very modern look, reflect the dynamics of sport and symbolize in a sublime way the magnificence of the Olympic spirit.

Thanks to those who pledged for this surprise bundle. It is still time to get a copy until the 4th of July.

The Rio 2016 mascot Vinicius reads “Olympic Games – The Design”
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 21, 2019 at 06:31:29 PM

Paulo Muppets and Luciana Eguti from Brazilian studio Birdo overwhelmed me.

I opened their email and there was this beautiful surprise. A sketch of mascot Vinicius reading my book! This very lively figure was created for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio, that was so much fun! In Brazil I participated for the first time in the organization of an exhibition about the history of the Look of the Olympic Games as a curator.

This kind of support gives me so much energy after millions of hours of research and writing.

We are now reaching 70% of the goal. Thank you so much!

Top Designer Sascha Lobe is in!

Designer Sascha Lobe confirmed that he is going to support Markus Osterwalder’s book! He is going to write an essay on Olympic design.

As soon as we have more details we will let you know...!

The London based Pentagram partner is an expert in “architectural branding” what means that his creativity integrates typedesign, corporate design and architecture. He is just perfect for bringing us closer to the Games identity because everything has to do with urban planning and corporate design.
